I had such a good time playing through Call of Juarez that I saw Gun at a pawn shop for $5 and couldn't resist. I had played it on the original XBOX and enjoyed it so I figured I'd play it again on 360. Gun is truly one of the best western themed games and a second playthrough has confirmed it for me

Call of Juarez Bound in Blood Review
One of the most vivid memories of my childhood was playing cowboys and indians. I know that's not politically correct now but I had my six shooter on my hip, bandanna around my neck, and my Woolworth's cowboy hat on as well. Heck I even had my mom's trusty mop which I had nicknamed Trigger as my loyal steed. I was a good mix of the Lone Ranger, Clint Eastwood, Black Bart, and Roy Rogers all rolled into one. I've played many western themed games over the years but never one as good as Call of Juarez Bound in Blood.
I finished up Call of Juarez Bound in Blood over the weekend and came away really impressed. The only downside I could find was the quick draw duels. I could never quite master them, but even they were fun and well done. The story, characters, voice acting, and music of Call of Juarez Bound in Blood were well done and the gunplay and weapons were the most well done in any western game I've played yet. The single player portion of the game took me about 10 hrs to complete on medium difficulty. I did all the side missions so your completion time might vary. I cannot stress enough just how well done the single player game is. The script for this game could have easily been straight out of a classic western from decades ago. It's a story of betrayal, lust, action, and redemption.
I didn't mess around much with the multiplayer but did enjoy what I played of it. The lack of co-op is a head scratcher though. This game would be perfect for co-op. I'd love to play the multiplayer in this game with friends since playing with randoms frankly sucks.
Bottom line
If you love westerns like I do then Call of Juarez Bound in Blood is a must buy. At the very least, it's worth a rental. Great game and much improved over the first Call of Juarez game. I hope theres a 3rd game down the pike for this series.
Sorry for the lack of posts
I apologize for the lack of posts lately but Ive been a busy busy fella. Last weekend was spent painting the new house and this weekend will be spent laying laminate throughout the house to get it to "move in" condition. I'm going to love not having to deal with carpet anymore. I love hardwood and laminate because it takes me back to my grandma's house as a child. It will be nice to move into a new house where good memories can be made and leave the old house with the bad memories behind.

RIP #9
Regardless of the circumstances surrounding his death, I'd like to say that Steve McNair was one of the greatest qb's I've ever had the pleasure of watching both in person and on the television. He took over as the QB for the Oilers/Titans and never looked back. He was a constant threat and a consumate field general. It is with much sadness that I retire my number 9 Titans jersey never to be worn again.
Happy 4th
Happy 4th of July to anyone who happens across the blog today. Before
the fireworks, food, and fun, take a moment to remember our founding
fathers and the brave men and women who've fought and are fighting for
this country in places around the world.

Catching up on some TV (Rescue Me, Royal Pains, Burn Notice)
Tuesday night's episode of Rescue Me seems to be a bit of a
placeholder for things to come. I'm hoping that the musical sequences
with Sean are over as I really felt they dragged the show to a
screeching halt. I'm hoping that Lou doesn't end up losing all the
money he's made since Candy left his life the last time, but I have a
feeling it's going to end up that way again. I'm so excited that
whenever Rescue Me ends, it's time for Sons of Anarchy again on FX.
Is there any cable network that does drama as well as FX?
I caught up on Royal Pains and at this point it's debatable whether
I'll continue to watch in the 2nd season. The Show is pretty good,
but I detest the PA Character and would love to see her replaced. Her
character is enough to make me stop watching the show.
Burn Notice has been great thus far and I'm anxious to see what
happens between Fi and Michael before we hit the break for Season 3.
If you've never watched Burn Notice, give it a try as it's one of the
best dramas on TV right now and has the legendary Bruce Campbell in
every single episode. Sam is my favorite character on the show and is
the one that keeps me watching to see what "Chuck Finley" gets into
next.
Call of Juarez Bound in Blood Impressions
I apologize as I meant to post these the other day, but never got
around to it. I picked up COJ because of my love for the first one
and the second one appears to be no exception. The graphics are
amazing, but are greatly overshadowed by the voice acting, characters,
music, and story, and as an added bonus, it's fun as well. The only
big downer (at least to me) is the quickdraw dueling sections. I'm
stuck on one of the duels and cannot get past it. The SP is epic and
the story is straight out of a 50's Western themed motion picture. I
haven't had a chance to play the multiplayer yet, but it does look
like a lot of fun. I hope to finish off the duel I'm stuck on and
complete the game at some point later today. If I had to give it a
rating thus far, it would be a definite buy. The Wild West Genre in
gaming is a slim one and Call of Juarez Bound in Blood joins Gun and
Red Dead Revolver as a western themed game that does it right.
Gran Torino
Before I post much about Gran Torino, I'd like to say that I wish I
could put into words exactly how I feel about Clint Eastwood. Clint
Eastwood has been one of my favorite actors since childhood. I think
Clint Eastwood's role in Gran Torino is the best of his career, and
that's strong praise considering all his other great movies (Pale
Rider, Unforgiven, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, and many more). I
enjoyed this movie more than any I've seen in the last few years, and
I'll admit to trying to hold back a few tears throughout the movie.
Gran Torino is one of the best acted movies that I've seen and the
cast was truly special. It's sad at least to me to see Clint getting
older, but I couldn't have imagined a better actor for the role of
Walt. If you haven't seen this movie, then please do so. This is one
of the few that I'll be buying and keeping on the shelf to watch over
and over.

President Charles Logan won't be back
Question: Is it true that Gregory Itzin will be back on 24 next season? --Arleen
Ausiello: That's false.
I wondered if he'd be back and now it's confirmed. I'm so ready for 24 to return

Catching up Tuesday edition
I'm debating on picking up call of juarez tonight after work. I loved the first one and from watching the latest episode of CO-OP, it appears the new one is good as well. I'm a sucker for cowboy games so I'll probably enjoy it
I love the idea of "The Freddie Show" making a comeback. I really enjoyed the few that Kidd Chris has put up for download and will be glad to hear it weekly again. I wish Chris would put a few of the 2 hour ones in the rotation during his vacation.
On Chris's show this morning, he mentioned someone getting upset about his vacation. I find that utterly stupid. Chris is doing this for free so I'm thankful for each show. I'm dreading October when the show leaves again and Im hoping the show gets picked up before then.

US vs Brazil post mortem
Even though the US soccer team lost yesterday in the Confederations Cup final, I came away impressed with their effort all the way around. Tim Howard looked great in goal and he really can't be blamed for Fabiano's goals. Fabiano looked so good yesterday, and I'd imagine his performance will at the very least put him in the papers again (as far as transfer discussion goes). Clint Dempsey continued to impress and is still the most exciting player to watch on the US National Team. Landon Donovan's goal was very impressive and it was nice to see him step up in a huge game. The team came out firing as they did in the match versus Spain and played hard for most of the match. I think there's quite a bit to be excited about for the World Cup in South Africa next summer.

Sirius XM-The dumbest company in America behind CBS Radio
It seems that here lately, Sirius XM seems to be making quite a few decisions that will come back to haunt them. First, they got into serious financial trouble, which in no small part was caused by the huge contracts they gave to Jamie Foxx and Christopher "Mad Dog" Russo. Did they learn from their mistakes? Sadly no, as they entered into an agreement with Rosie O'Donnell last week to host a daily 2 hour radio show. When will the executives learn that bringing in localized talent (ie Russo) or celebrities to do radio just doesn't work? I'm sure Russo is a great talent, but $5 million dollars? The Mad Dog seems like a bit of a "tame puppy" without Mike to bait him a bit. I could understand if they brought both along, but they separated a once great radio team. Let's go over a few of the celebs that have a slot on Sirius XM Radio. Oprah, Martha Stewart, Jamie Foxx, Rosie O'Donnell, Barbara Walters, and the list goes on and on. I have no problem with Rosie O'Donnell. I applaud her stance on many issues and I can appreciate the controversy she'll bring to the airwaves with her, but one really has to ask if that controversy will bring in subs and money to the ailing satellite radio company. I predict this will be another move that inches the company closer to being gone. Don't feel bad Sirius, you have a long way to go to catch up with CBS Radio, the company that let Howard Stern walk, and fired Kidd Chris and Opie and Anthony, and actually thought that David Lee Roth could do radio.

RIP Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson
This had originally been planned for just a single obit for Farrah Fawcett but it's now turned into a dual memorial for Michael Jackson as well. I haven't been a fan of Michael's since I was a kid, but still it's pretty rough to hear. As David Jaffe pointed out on his Twitter, the 1980's suffered two great losses today.
Ethan is the new Secretary of State on 24?
From the latest Ausiello
Question: So does Ethan become the Vice President of 24 next season? Or maybe the first new gentleman?--Chris
Ausiello: You're wrong on both counts. According to an aide close to President Taylor, who asked not to be identified because he/she could get fired for talking to me, Ethan will be appointed the new ********* ** *****.
Secretary of State is my best guess and I'm glad Ethan is sticking around for Season 8
Here's who I'm still waiting to hear from on the Kidd Chris Show
9. The Tonsil Slapping Mom of ThomasA few of the folks I had on my previous list have now shown up on the Kidd Chris Show (Bob Levy, Danny Ozark, Mum Mum, Mary Carey) so here's who is left to hear from. As I posted in the previous list, some of them I'm sure can't show up over legal stuff.
1. DJ Eggnog aka Kevin from Blue Bell- It was nice hearing from Tara, but it would be nice to hear from the man himself.
2. Run-Dogg aka Lurch
3. Metro
4. Rock Hard Killa-
5. MonkeyBoy
6. Joel McHale
7. Ed McGonigal
8. Skidmark
10.Spike
11. Rich Vos

Thrilling Win
Todays win by US Soccer was nothing short of amazing. In case ya missed it, The US Soccer Team took down the Spanish National Team 2-0. Our Eleven outmatched their Eleven at every turn and played gangbusters for 90 minutes. It's on to the finale against either South Africa or Brazil on Sunday. Part of me hopes that Brazil wins out, but I wouldn't mind watching The USMNT take on South Africa either. It should be a great finale and I'm still in shock over the win.

Finally caught up on Rescue Me
Short of tonights episode (which is on the DVR) I’m caught up on Rescue Me. It’s been a great season thus far and I’m glad to finally be caught up.
Canceled XM
I cancelled my XM this morning and promptly received a refund to my debit card. I hadn't listened in a long time to either Stern or Opie and Anthony and it just wasn't being used. I've just been listening to Kidd Chris and podcasts lately anyways so it didn't matter, and I don't listen to the music anyways. If Kidd Chris ever does make the jump to Satellite, I'll subscribe again without question, but for now, I'm good without it.

Finished Rescue Me Season 4
I finished up Rescue Me Season 4 and I have to say it was the most disappointing of the 4. The stories were disjointed and for God's sake you killed Jimmy and Tommy's father off at the end. I'm now up to episode 7 of Season 5 and this one seems much much better thus far. I hope to be caught up completely for tomorrow night's episode. Great series and I can finally give my blockbuster card a rest.

Time for the Soapbox (Iran, Adoption, and John and Kate)
I've got a few issues that are really bothering so it's time to drag the Soapbox out of the closet.
Iran
I'll be quite honest when I say this, I couldn't give two shits about the Middle East or any of the countries contained there. Am I an inconsiderate ass? The only good thing to come from the Middle East is oil as far as I'm concerned and the residents of the Middle East have been fighting for thousands of years and they'll continue to fight till the day the world ends. I'm no fan of the war in Iraq, but I do find it funny that so many people who decried our actions there are now speaking out in favor of action in Iran. WHAT????? The only difference in the situation in Iraq and Iran is an "N" and a "Q". Both were lead by charismatic men who really don't seem to care much for their population. All the Americans calling for the head of Ahmadinejad need to remember taking down Hussein in Iraq and the backlash that Bush received for it.
Adoption
When did it become fashionable to adopt children outside of this country? I'm so tired of reading about Brad and Angelina or Madonna or any other celebrity going to another country to adopt a child. There are thousands of children here in Brad and Angelina's home country of America and I'm sure there are thousands in the UK where Madonna lives that are desperate for a permanent home.
Jon and Kate Plus 8 minus 12 divided by 14 times 10
Seriously, who gives a shit about these two? They're going to make some "big" announcement Monday night. I wish that announcement was that they were giving the kids to their grandparents and disappearing. They say Television adds 10 lbs, but in the same line of thought, I'm sure that television adds 10 units of stress as well. They've exploited these children for years and used them to get news exposure and free TV time and it's truly time for it to end. You can't raise a child when you act like a child. Sorry for the harshness, but people like this don't deserve the title "parent".
Happy Father's Day
First of all to my dad, Happy Father's Day. I couldn't ask for a better dad than you. Secondly, whether it's your first or your 20th, happy Father's Day to everyone across the world.

3 New Titles from Gameloft

Anticipation for Madden and NCAA=slim to none
This year I just don't have that anticipation for Madden and NCAA that I've had in years past. I've always been a much bigger fan of NCAA Football than Madden, but given the problems with the rosters and such this year with NCAA (see Pastapadre.com), I'm not even sure I'm going to pick it up if they're not up to snuff and if they're not fixed. The true joy of playing NCAA to me is with correct named rosters and the ability to at least beat Bama and Florida virtually every single year. I'm sure that TeamBuilder is exciting to a few folks, but not exciting enough to run the risk of borking the rosters for NCAA. I've never been a big fan of creating teams to look like my high school complete with true rosters and colors, but some folks are and that's fine. I'd rather have had EA scrap Teambuilder and focus time on fixing the rosters.
See that's a huge problem with EA Tiburon at least in my book. They spend too much time focusing on gimmicky shit to get Little Johnny to play their games rather than fixing problems and stopping new problems with their games from year to year. The lone exceptions to this are NHL and FIFA. The FIFA and NHL development teams take the time to listen to their fans and make gameplay much better. FIFA09 was simply put the finest sports game I think I've ever played. I've played so many manager modes in that game that I've lost count and had just countless great matches. I'm still playing it almost a year later and I've never done that with another sports game. I don't mind paying yearly for a sports game so long as the improvements and positives outweigh the negatives.
My Progress on Rescue Me Season 4
I think I'm through episode 5 or 6 of Rescue Me Season 4 and just watched Jerry kill himself. Jerry was one of my favorite characters thus far and I'd hoped to have seen him make it through. I hope to finish up Season 4 sometime today and then download all the episodes from Season 5 on ITunes to get caught up. I'd say a couple more weeks and I'll be watching another show live, and I think after Rescue Me, I'm done with new shows on DVD. I already have 24, Rescue Me, Burn Notice, Royal Pains, Grey's Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, 30 Rock, and Supernatural in my DVR on a weekly basis and I think that's plenty.
